This is usually due to an extension crashing. However, sometimes (like earlier today), Chrome can go funky and crash my Gmail. When email comes in that I want to act on right away, I pop them out to a new window. I usually keep one tab open at the left of my browser with Gmail open. I’m getting used to working in a different way. Kiwi brings the familiar Gmail GUI (graphic user interface) out of your browser and on to your desktop. You are not forced to learn a different interface. If you look at Kiwi for Gmail, you will notice that it looks as it should… like Gmail. Kiwi for Gmail helps bridge the gap between Gmail on the web, and the desktop client that we may crave. I admit that there are a few things that I miss about using Outlook, a standalone mail program. So I decided to make the huge switch of moving my mail to Gmail. And each time it was unplugged and moved I risked losing mail, contacts, and my schedule. Since my email was housed on an actual computer in my home, I was iffy on unplugging it and carrying it to my mom’s house. While waiting for the new one to be ready we lived with my mother for 3 months. So, I had my own Exchange server at home that I could play around with which helped me keep up on valuable skills for my job. I was then and am always about learning new things. Before that I hosted my own email server. To access emails with those labels, click the three dots (top right) while in Priority View and choose the labels of the emails you want to see.įollowing these steps lets you keep your Gmail inbox organised, focused, and with a bit of practice, clutter-free.I’ve been a Gmail user since 2006. If you want specific emails to also appear in your Primary tab, click on the Star icon to the left of their subject line. Click Yes to have those emails land on those tabs going forward. Snooze is also on the context menu that pops up when you right-click on messages. Snoozing lets you focus on emails when you need them most. Snooze Emails for Laterįor emails with dates and times, snooze them until you need them. Right-click on the conversation you want to leave and select Mute from the list. Muting keeps future responses to that thread out of your inbox. If you’re part of a conversation that’s no longer relevant, mute it. Enable the “Send & Archive” button in your Gmail settings, under the “General” section. Sending a message that you don’t need to keep following? You can send and archive emails with one click. Tabbed inboxes help you focus on what’s important. Keep your inbox organised by moving promotional or social emails to tabs click and drag them to the tab you want them to arrive on in future. Check the Never Send it to Spam option.Check the Skip the Inbox (Archive it) option.Click the Show search option button on the right side of the search bar.Archive NotificationsĪutomatically archive notifications to keep your inbox focused on what matters. This can save your bacon by highlighting emails that need immediate attention that you might otherwise miss if they weren’t flagged. Identify and flag important or VIP emails so they stand out.
